Every since bringing Aliyah home, Caden has not been sleeping well. He wakes up once or twice during the night crying and then wakes up after only 9-10 hours of sleep. He usually wakes up crying which typically means he hasn't had enough sleep. He also doesn't nap for very long, usually only about 1 1/2 hours.
Before Aliyah was born we had nights and days like that but they were few and far between. He was going down at 8pm and sleeping till 8 or later and taking 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon. Any one have any thoughts about how to get him back on the old schedule? Do you think it's just because of all the change going on? He has been great with Aliyah and hasn't expressed any signs of jealousy or anything. He just loves on her a ton and always asks about her if he doesn't see her.
It's just getting exhausting for me to be feeding a baby every two- three hours in the night and dealing with a crying toddler (which Daniel usually handles, but it still wakes me up) and then getting up at the crack of dawn. Any thought or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh man. I don't have any suggestions, but I have to say that your little girl is BEAUTIFUL!! Congrats to you guys!! You have an adorable family. I hope the naps get better ... I'm sure they will, once everyone adjusts to the new addition. You're doing great, Gretchen!! Just take it one day at a time!!
Abigail was a little older but we found the same thing. She was great with the baby but the stress of a new person in the house had her sleep all out of whack! With lots of reassurance and extra attention from Dad, and as much as I could muster up, she settled down in about 3 weeks. You will find your groove it just takes some time.
I'm going to be asking you for advice in a few years...for now I'll just be praying for you guys!
Hey Gretchen...we have totally gone through the same thing...my best advice is to just keep trying the same thing...the same routine that you had before the little angel came along. Kids thrive on routine and once Caden realizes that life is still the same routine he'll sleep...at least that has been our experiance! We will be praying for your beautiful family.
